Paver Patio in Downingtown, PA

Pavers add a look of elegance but are also tough and durable

If you’re thinking about replacing or adding a patio or walkway that will add ambiance to your home without sacrificing durability, consider interlocking pavers.  Pavers are extremely durable and require little maintenance to maintain their beauty.

When it comes to design and appearance, there are many options available.  Some mimic authentic stone while others have a contemporary look and feel.  Our skilled landscape designers can create a 3-D Design to help you visualize your project.    In fact, making your decision of design and color is most often the hardest part of your design process!

One reason pavers are so extremely popular is that they are an affordable alternative to stone.  Stone is very expensive especially slate and flagstone.  The irregular shapes require a great deal of time to install.  Pavers are interlocking and somewhat predictable and manageable to install.

Below are some frequently asked questions about pavers.

Will pavers require any maintenance?

Pavers require no regular maintenance.

How about snow removal and de-icing?

Rock salt is not recommended for snow and ice removal because of the possibility of efflorescence.  Non-sodium de-icers are environmentally preferred.

Do pavers need to be sealed?

Although sealers are not needed for the protection of the pavers, they will give your pavers a wet look which many people prefer.  Sealers should be applied after the installation has weathered one winter.  Much older patios may have darkened over the years or food and wine may have discolored it.  Paver Cleaning and Sealing is an option and the results will amaze you.
